Anne Dorsey holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied voice and conducting.  While a student at Chapel Hill, she sang soprano in the renowned Carolina Choir and Women’s Glee Club, both directed by the late Dr. Lara Hoggard.  Her choral teaching experience includes high school, middle school and elementary school levels.  Her last teaching position was at North Moore High School in Moore County.  She retired recently after 32 years in education.  Her choral groups consistently garnered superior ratings in competition and have toured the United States and Canada.  In 2004, she was named Outstanding Arts Educator in the Moore County Schools. She has served as guest clinician and conductor for All-County choral events and served as Women’s Choir director at East Carolina University Summer Choral Camps.

In addition to teaching, Ms. Dorsey is choir director for the Community Congregational Church in Southern Pines, a position she has held for 34 years.  This group recently performed in England.  This is her eleventh season as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Choral Society.  In earlier years, she also sang and served the chorus as member and soprano soloist.  Ms. Dorsey is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the Music Educators National Conference, North Carolina Music Educators Association, and Chorus America.  She has been featured in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.”

MariJo Brown attended Mount St. Scholastical College where she studied piano performance while still in high school. She made her music debut at the age of 15 and performed three times as guest soloist with two symphonies before the age of 18.
